“Working together to improve the quality of life for our youth.”
CTC believes that all children matter, and families need support and education to raise healthy and caring children. Knowledge is the key to success. If we work together, we can accomplish a lot.
The Waynesboro Communities That Care creates an environment that fosters the growth and development of youth using assets within the community, schools, families and peer groups to prevent problem and risky behaviors.
Additionally, our vision is to teach, develop and maintain a community of healthy, responsible and productive citizens.
Waynesboro CTC currently stands alone as an incorporated non-profit organization. CTC has a part time volunteer Executive Director/Community Mobilizer. The CTC Board consists of a president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary. Additionally, CTC Board members serve as the primary volunteers to conduct program planning, grant writing, fundraising, youth activities, education and outreach. Programming is implemented through contracts with appropriate providers and facilitators.
The efforts of CTC over the past seven years have primarily focused on enhancing community mobilization. This includes conducting risk and resource assessments through the Pennsylvania Youth Survey, enhancing Board skills in fundraising, developing a sustainability plan, and addressing issues that affect youth and families in the community.
The goals of the Waynesboro CTC are:
1. To create and coordinate prevention methods and efforts within the Waynesboro area community to make the system more efficient, effective and productive.
2. To increase protective factors and decrease risk factors among our community youth.
3. Through forward thinking initiatives, we will continue to work together to improve the lives of youth and families.
Waynesboro Area CTC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
