Peers

The Waynesboro Area Communities That Care, Inc. (CTC) have identified individual/peer risk factors within our schools and community. Early and persistent antisocial behavior can be demonstrated in children as early as grades K-3. This risk factor also includes persistent antisocial behavior in early adolescent, such as misbehaving in school and getting into fights with other children. Adolescent boys and girls who engage in these behaviors are at increased risk for all five problem behaviors such as substance abuse, deliquency, teen pregnancy, school drop-out and violent behavior.

Drug prevention education in our schools and community will promote better academic performance and teach our children to deal with peer pressure effectively. The Waynesboro Communities That Care, Inc. (CTC) promotes many community and school activities that foster social growth for the community’s youth.
